If you are DJ that has been around for a while, there is a good chance that you could have a number of older mp3’s that are ripped from as small as 64kbps to up to 256kbps. Now with storage being ridiculously cheap, and the push for quality looming over the DJ, maybe it’s time to go through the tedious process of swapping out your older inferior songs for the best quality you can muster.

I’ve spent some significant time re-ripping my CD catalog as lossless (ALAC) and I have been going through the process of finding and swapping out those older rips in place for the new rips. It’s a pretty involved process, but with the right tools and process, you can speed up and automate a lot of this process.
